The main theme here seems to be traveling. The subtext can be interpreted by the codas in each composition which just like water, appear to reflect on the human condition, which can mirror navigating conditions out at sea. Some songs are foreboding, as if to comment on the darker aspects of one's humanity, other times melodious and reflect on more positive aspects while on the final track the mood is elegiac, as are the complexities of the human spirit as whole. A highly immersive album.

Although TMW has a wealth of instrumentation, the focus here is on ambience, texture, and the conceptualization of emotive responses by way of tones and cascading drones. Melodies gently slip in and out like recalled ghosts to steer the compositions from wandering aimlessly and the entire album creates an ethereal coda that manages to suspend the notion of time. A stupendous accomplishment.
